June 30, Oshkosh, WI

Thanks to Dawn Pierce on RAMD for this review!

Hi everyone: Wish I could post scores from this show, but to my surprise,
there were none. At the show it was announced as exhibition only. I have
no idea why.

The show was posted as starting at 7, started at 7:30. The following corps
were in attendance:

Bandettes- only all-girl corps in existence.

PR Cadets-jazz show, enjoyable color guard show.

Marquis-Real solid percussion ensemble.

Americanos-Good solid show, nice brass writing! Div. III contender.

Kiwanis Kavaliers-My first time seeing them, really bright sounding
hornline.

Pioneer-Well put together show, "Shades of the Emerald". A little sloppy
yet in both marching and brass execution.

Troopers-Aside from the end of the show, the silent sunburst and rifle
toss over the flags, this show lacks GE. I liked Fanfare for the Common
Man at the beginning, however.

Madison-WOW. They are hot this year! Love the matador dance by the
guard. I thought the drill a little slow-moving, though. I guess that may be
in comparision to a couple other top 12 drills.

But what a show- The retreat was a bust, especially with no scores to announce.
Half the corps didn't even look like they were playing America the Beautiful.
Get the message, DCM- The old way was better.
Thanks for listening to my two cents.
